Editorial : Separation between politics and judiciary

【明報專訊】RECENTLY, there has been a lot of controversy about judicial impartiality and independence in Hong Kong society. Some judges are even given different labels such as yellow, blue and red. The court is a place for law and evidence, and the public have the right to express their views on cases decided by the judiciary. If anyone thinks that there is something wrong with a judge's handling of a case, or if they suspect systematic bias, they can lodge a complaint in accordance with procedure. However, it will be a big problem if judges are labelled different colours and subjected to ad hominem attacks just because they do not fit citizens' political preferences.
