【明報專訊】I didn't know Jerry. Not then, I didn't, though I'd probably been at a party or a house gathering when he was there. I just don't know, and I certainly didn't remember his face. Nonetheless, he seemed to know me. I was sitting in the patio at the Village Café, outdoors to get some sun, nearly hidden by a large flowering hydrangea. It had large flowers, and they were blue. A form loomed over my table as I was looking at the headlines in a Herald Tribune someone had left on the table, and I looked up to see Jerry. He looked almost grim. He was holding a cup of black coffee, and there was a clink as he set it down on the table in its saucer. "Have you seen my uncle?" he asked.
