【明報專訊】Growing up, I realise religion never played an important role in my life. My old school was not tinted with religious hues of any sort. If anything, it was rather communist, using Chinese textbooks straight from the mainland with odd propagandistic passages. The only vaguely religious person in my family was my grandmother, who was a Buddhist. So it was quite a shock when I arrived at my new Church of England school, and discovered that I have to spend a good ninety minutes in the chapel every week.
