【明報專訊】此英文成語形容一個人的職業生涯從頂峰落入了低谷,甚至瀕臨結束邊緣,較常用於形容政客。

When everybody thought that veteran politician had been yesterday's news, he ran for election and won out of the blue!

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, some people have treated Russia as yesterday's news — that's probably dangerous.

In the showbiz world, a star rises quickly but may also vanish all of a sudden. The one you admire might become yesterday's news just within days.
