■Far and away
= by a very great amount (極為)
E.g. She is far and away the best actress I have ever seen.
= not (完全不)
E.g. Your account is far from (being) true.
E.g. Your account is far from the truth.
E.g. The problem is far from easy.
■few and far between
= not many (不常發生/稀少)
E.g. Windows in those days were so few and far between that the folks inside remained quite unaware of what was going on outside.
■Far and wide / near
= everywhere / over a large area (四面八方/大面積)
E.g. They searched far and wide / far and near (elsewhere)for the missing child.
E.g. People came from far and near / wide to hear the famous violinist.
■Far be it from me to...
= I certainly would not (我絕不想/敢/會)
E.g. Far be it from me to interfere your business, but I would like to give you a piece of advice.
