Culture Express : What family is all about

【明報專訊】Dealing with family members with different personalities is never easy and it could be a lifelong challenge. It is even harder when three adopted children join the family all at once.

Feeling a void(空虛)in marriage, Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) decide to start a family. As they explore foster care adoption, the couple meet and fall for an intrepid(堅毅的)15-year-old teenager, Lizzy (Isabela Moner), who has been tossed around in the foster care system for years. To their surprise, Lizzy comes with two younger siblings, Juan (Gustavo Quiroz) and Lita (Julianna Gamiz). Speeding from zero to three kids overnight, Pete and Ellie have to learn to become parents immediately.

Things are pleasant at the beginning, but it does not take long to get hectic. Juan is fragile and emotional, Lita can go from sweet to Satan if she does not get her way, and Lizzy is sceptical(多疑的)and rebellious. Despite all these problems, the couple must learn the ropes of instant parenthood in the hopes of becoming a family.

Inspired by real events from the life of writer and director Sean Anders, Instant Family demonstrates with laughter and tears what family is all about.
