美國總統當選人拜登在感恩節發表講話，呼籲美國民眾作個人犧牲，與家人共度感恩節時減少人多的聚會。
拜登和妻子吉爾今年在特拉華州雷霍博斯（Rehoboth）海濱小鎮度過感恩節，與女兒Ashley及女婿Howard Kerin共聚。他和妻子吉爾（Jill Biden）周四（26日）在Twitter發布短片，稱感恩節一直是他們一家人的特別時刻，今年他們一家會留在家鄉特拉華州，稱儘管留家過節就個人而言犧牲了與其他家人團聚，但認為在新型冠狀病毒疫情下這對全國民眾都是一份禮物，能拯救其他人的性命，更好的日子會來臨。
疾病控制與預防中心（CDC）日前呼籲，促請數以百萬計民眾減少飛往全國各地與家人團聚過節。
